Well, if their own fans know the same thing, then why are they complaining about anyone else in the league saying it? Flyers fan here, and for once it is good to see some Penguin-kicking going on in the Eastern Conference. Far too long have they needed a thrashing, and for goodness sakes why is Crosby still Captain over there? Talk about a second-year-player-getting-a-C-just-because-he's-good.

Maybe I shouldn't talk too soon with the game coming up tonight, but I guess we will see, won't we.

I appreciate you coming over here and responding.

I just get all bent out of shape when people, especially when it involves sports, take unwarranted shots at us, especially because it's little (usually exaggerated) instances like these that perpetuate those extremely negative opinions about us. It's like the Santa snowball throwing business... nobody ever mentions that the guy portraying Santa was drunk and cursing around kids... 40 years ago.

Philadelphians can be very territorial, which I think is a major reason why we get such a bad rep.

Certainly, it's warranted at times, and it's not like I even want Pens fans to like us... it's a rivalry, we're not supposed to get along, but I think you can understand where I'm coming from.

Regardless though, I still enjoy your blog (especially the Malkin-English thing you've been doing) and hopefully there are no hard feelings.

Although a Flyer beatdown tonight may change that.. ;)

Oh and by the way, never once said classless. Said "a bit more class," but never classless.

Admirable retort, I commend your efforts. I wouldn't necessarily call my post propaganda, but so be it. Eat my words? Meh, hardly. I said what had to be said in the eyes of a Penguins fan that feels this issue is a moot point, especially since Therrien even came out the other day and said he's not concerned about his job.

For someone who was watching a game with little concern, more or less in passing while grabbing a few slices of pizza from the kitchen table, I wasn't totally focused on whether or not my time span was exactly 10 minutes or not. Even then, I believe a majority readers at Pensburgh would know it's facetious and/or hardly care. The average Pens fan would have the same degree of interest I'm sure.

Pensburgh provides insight, sure, but on days like a Sunday where people are trying to still shake off the sting of another crappy loss, I perceive the post/banter to be similar to that of a bar-like conversation with a hint of fan disapproval - exaggerated, deflated emotions and yes, admittedly even a bit out of context. It doesn't make it wrong in any way, it just keeps Pens fans in the know and looking forward to the league's best rivalry.

Thanks for providing the video, thanks for clearing up the controversy, but I still don't think that guy Steve Coates (thanks btw) can really say what's best for the Pens. Just my opinion, and I'm sure you'll refute it.

But at least we can both agree that for whatever sports-centric mind that Amy Fadool lacks she at least makes up for it in looks.

Great post.
